2009 Wrangell- St. Elias

Setting up the kitchen fly after a hike up from the river on the valley floor on our 2009 expedition to the Wrangell- St. Elias National Park. Notice the tents in the right middle-distance; sleeping areas are always kept well away from the food preparation area to ensure safety should any creatures come prowling in the night. Of course all food and anything with an odor are stored in specially designed bear canisters (Greg is sitting on one – they make excellent camp stools), which are placed a further hundred yards or so beyond the kitchen fly during the night.
